LUIS LEEDS ANNOUNCED AS RED BULL JUNIOR TEAM DRIVER
Young Australian race driver Luis Leeds has been announced as a member of the 2016 Red Bull Junior Team.
The role will see 15-year-old Leeds relocate to England where he will drive in the 2016 MSA British Formula 4 championships, for the Arden International Motorsport Team.
Whilst the Red Bull selection indicates a clear path towards the highest rung on the motorsport ladder, Formula 1, with it comes pressure to perform.
Red Bull have been running a successful junior team since 2001, producing current F1 racers Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat.
The prestigious selection to the Red Bull Junior Team squad has come early for the young Victorian.
After a successful year running in the Australian Formula 4 championships this year, Leeds captured the attention of Red Bull with his recent win in the F4 support race at the Mexican Formula 1 Grand Prix, in November.
"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity that has been given to me by Red Bull and Dr Marko. It has all come as a surprise and I'm grateful for this chance" Luis said.
"This is only a first step, it's no guarantee that I will make it to F1. It's now up to me to make something of this opportunity and return the faith that Dr Marko has see in me".

The next step for Leeds will be two day's of testing in Valencia next week where he will drive the UK MSA F4 car at the Valencia circuit, before heading home to Australia for Christmas.
