#26 Luis Leeds (AUS – Arden Mygale-Ford)
British Formula 4: 3rd – 289 points – after 27 of 30 races
Three races over the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit will decide the British F4 championship this coming weekend and Red Bull Junior Luis Leeds knows that he can take the title. It will be a huge battle and he has a 19 point deficit but there are 75 points to be won.
"Yes sure, it's an exciting week for me, my two title contenders less than 20 in front. In fact there are five or six of us that can still win the title and I am in the middle of them," enthuses the 16-year-old Australian with his usual huge smile.
"I'm just concentrating on going after the title, the dream is there, it's up to me to grab it. It's great that the final is on the GP track at Brands, an iconic circuit."
"I've not driven the full circuit in an F4 car, I sneaked out for a session in a road car, just to get a little bit of a feel for it but I've done multiple sim sessions so we are as well prepared as it's possible to be. It's only when you get out there in your race car that you really find out what it's going to be like though, no matter what you have done."
"Of course I've done plenty of laps on the short circuit so corners like Paddock Hill Bend I know... incredible, you feel like you are floating across the top and it is only the compression at the bottom that keeps you on the track."
"I don't expect the car to be very different from the other tracks, we've run pretty standard set-up through the year except for Knockhill which was the exception. So I don't have to worry about that, the Arden guys know exactly what they are doing and they know the GP circuit."
"Sure there is going to be a lot of tension this weekend but I think the real pressure is on the front two guys, they've got it all to lose. Plus I've got the best support. A shame my mum couldn't make it but my dad is here and my brother and sister are over so that's fantastic," concluded Leeds.
